Today, I am sharing with you Nikujaga (Niku=Meat, Jaga=Potatoes) recipe. One of my husband’s favourite Japanese foods. If you like the taste of Sukiyaki, you’ll love Nikujaga. 🙂
- 300g (10.5 oz) of potatoes
- 90g (3.1 oz) of onions
- 80g (2.8 oz) of carrot
- 100g (3.5 oz) of beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
- 20g (0.7 oz) of glass noodles
- 1 teaspoon of Japanese dashi
- 2 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoon of mirin
- 1 tablespoon of sake
- 4 tablespoon of soy sauce
2 servings. 🙂
↑Cut the vegetables like this.
500ml boil water. Add dashi and vegetables cook for 10 minutes.
Add beef. Remove the foam from the surface.
Add sugar and sake. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
Add soy sauce and mirin. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add glass noodles. ↑I used this. You can use any type of glass noodles.
And cook for 3 or 4 minutes.
