Buta Kakuni = Pork cut into cubes and boiled with seasoning. Japanese style simmered pork. 🙂
- 350g (12.3 oz) of pork belly block
- 1 boiled egg
- Green onion
- Japanese mustard
- 500ml of water
- 2 teaspoon of dashi
- 3 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of mirin
- 3 tablespoon of soy sauce
- A clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
2 servings. 🙂
Cut the pork belly like this.
Put the pork cubes in a heated frying pan. (No need oil)
Cook the pork each side for 3 minutes. (Until light brown color)
Remove the oil with paper towel.
Add 500ml of boiling water and all seasonings.
Place a lid on the pork and put cover on the frying pan. Cook both sides for 40 minutes. (low heat)
Add boiled egg and mushrooms. Cook for 10 minutes.
Please try Buta Kakuni with Japanese mustard. Very yummy!! 🙂
